Newcomers Club gives individuals and their families relocating to the Rochester area an avenue to meet new friends and discover all that Rochester has to offer.

We also welcome members who have experienced recent change in their lives such as retirement, change in marital status or the arrival of a new baby.

Since many of us have either recently moved to the area or had a change in the circumstances of our lives, we’re a great resource for others in these circumstances.  We’ll gladly help to make your transition a bit easier.

As a social group, we provide a focused way to meet people to share experiences and local activities.  We offer a wide array of activities to ensure there’s something of interest for everyone.

We sponsor activities, but also routinely promote activities organized by other groups when we feel they'll be of interest to our membership.  We try to offer a variety of activities to meet varied interests, but if we don’t have one you find enticing, we’ll be happy to help you form one that does.

The Newcomers website supports everything we do.  We use it to communicate our activities, link to other websites in Rochester that can support your transition, and publicize “happenings around town” on our “May We Recommend” page.

So, if you are interested in meeting new friends and finding interesting things to do, check us out.

Join now and let the fun begin!

Mary Dobler
President, Newcomers of Greater Rochester

We're a not-for-profit social club providing a friendly atmosphere and a wide variety of member-run activities so you can meet new friends and get adjusted to a new place or a new time in your life. We'll also help you learn about local charitable and civic causes by communicating activities and events that are of special interest to our members.

All potential, new and old-time members are invited to  the Bagel Bin Cafe, 12 Corners in Brighton, (2600 Elwood Avenue), at 10am on the third Tuesday of every month. We usually meet in the far corner to the left of the food service counters.

Come once, come often.

This picture looked perfect for our February Picture of the Month and Ted Gough, a local photographer who does great work graciously allowed us to use it for our February website. (Obviously, do not copy or distribute it to anyone)  "This little squirrel gave me quite a show that day during a blizzard up in Webster Park right on Lake Ontario", he emailed back. The squirrel and more of Ted's work can be found at www.willowpix.com with about forty other of his more "generic" stock images. He also has many photographs and digital images - many of them very much Rochester-area focused - at his personal web site - www.tedgough.smugmug.com
