Downtown Rochester in the early evening.
bullet Message to Prospective Members bullet About Us bullet Picture of the Month

Newcomers Club gives individuals and their families relocating to the Rochester area an avenue to meet new friends and discover all that Rochester has to offer.

We also welcome members who have experienced recent change in their lives such as retirement, change in marital status or the arrival of a new baby.

Since many of us have either recently moved to the area or had a change in the circumstances of our lives, we’re a great resource for others in these circumstances.  We’ll gladly help to make your transition a bit easier.

As a social group, we provide a focused way to meet people to share experiences and local activities.  We offer a wide array of activities to ensure there’s something of interest for everyone.

We sponsor activities, but also routinely promote activities organized by other groups when we feel they'll be of interest to our membership.  We try to offer a variety of activities to meet varied interests, but if we don’t have one you find enticing, we’ll be happy to help you form one that does.

The Newcomers website supports everything we do.  We use it to communicate our activities, link to other websites in Rochester that can support your transition, and publicize “happenings around town” on our “May We Recommend” page.

So, if you are interested in meeting new friends and finding interesting things to do, check us out.

Join now and let the fun begin!

President, Newcomers of Greater Rochester

We're a not-for-profit social club providing a friendly atmosphere and a wide variety of member-run activities so you can meet new friends and get adjusted to a new place or a new time in your life. We'll also help you learn about local charitable and civic causes by communicating activities and events that are of special interest to our members.

The Rochester Downtown Development Corporation is a private, not-for-profit, economic development entity, funded by local  corporations, institutions, and real estate companies.

To create the synergy and balance that is part of a healthy downtown, the RDDC agenda nurtures a broad range of development initiatives. These include housing, commercial, entertainment, and large public projects.

We've linked their website to ours because it provides a window into the potential the future of our downtown area that is probably of interest to newcomers.

(Note: When you click on this website name , a new window will open.  When you are done with that website, you should click on the little x in the upper-right-hand corner of the window to return to the Newcomers website.)
